David gained a BSc in Economics and Accountancy at Loughborough University.
Joined Pannell Kerr Forster in 1980.
Qualified in 1985 and joined Clear & Lane as an Audit Manager in February 1986.
Appointed Partner in May 1987.
Appointed Managing Partner on 1 May 2012.

Q. If you weren’t a partner of Clear and Lane, what would you be? Definitely a professional sportsman.
A. If I was under 30 still, a rugby player and being just over 30, a golfer!
Q. What is your greatest achievement?
A. Running the New York Marathon in 3 hours and 48 minutes when 44!!
Q. What is your most embarrassing moment?
A. Forgetting to mention/thank my parents-in-law at our wedding during my Groom’s speech.
Q. Who are the three people you would most like to haveround for dinner?
A. Serge Blanco, the best full back to have played rugby in my lifetime and before it became a professional game; Cameron Diaz, do I need to give a reason why; and James Cracknell after one of his adventures.
Q. What is your claim to fame?
A. I am a descendent of the Fokker Airplane manufacturing family who in the 1920’s and 1930’s dominated the civil aviation market. No jokes please about the name!
Q. Tell us something about you that we don’t know and that would surprise us?
A. I was born in Venezuela and lived there until I was six and spoke fluent Spanish when I left. Sadly no more.

David, along with his wife Helen and daughters Rebecca and Alexandra, do an incredible amount of fundraising for various charities, including LOROS, the Hope Foundation, the Wooden Spoon Society and Childreach International.
